Unified Development Code adopted, replacing a decades-old zoning code

Ordinance No. 1438 created the Unified Development Code (City Code Chapter 215), replacing Yukon’s prior zoning ordinance after a Comprehensive Plan process with public and stakeholder meetings. It was adopted on August 1, 2023 and took effect that August — under the previous council, before this one took office in May 2024. Every development decision this council has made since has been made under it, and the council amended its permitted-use table through Ordinance No. 1494 on May 5, 2026.
