8 new playgrounds built by Mayor Pillmore’s council, 2025–2026

Eight new playgrounds delivered by Mayor Pillmore’s council for a combined $700,461 — averaging just $87,558 per park, all completed between March 2025 and March 2026. Council-led parks: Hilcrest ($71,937, March 2025 and February 2026), Bledsoe ($56,899, November 2025), Dickenson ($76,522, October 2025), Greenbelt ($72,692, November 2025), Welch ($53,687, November 2025), Sunrise ($36,088, March 2026), The Lawn at the Library ($215,291, February 2026), and Treehouse at City Park ($117,345, March 2026). Five of these eight are the first-ever playground at their location. Plus the inherited Freedom Trail Playground ($1,682,221), a project of the prior administration that sat unfinished for over two years amid quality issues and cost overruns — finally resolved within roughly two months of Mayor Pillmore’s council taking their seats and reopened in late July 2024.
