Long-range water supply plan

Commissioned Garver Engineering in 2025 to develop Yukon's first-ever comprehensive water supply plan, evaluating current and future needs across 20-year and 50-year planning horizons and developing six alternatives — expanding the existing well field, new groundwater supplies, potential surface water sources, and potable reuse. Garver published the completed plan on April 24, 2026: a long-range roadmap identifying roughly $219 million in investment through the 2030s. Read alongside the new Water Management Department, the interlocal partnership with the City of Bethany, and $1.64 million in newly secured federal wastewater funding, it marks the beginning of a real planning process for a water-supply need Yukon had overlooked for decades — not a spending plan, but the front end of work already underway.
