From the Mayor’s Desk

Welcome to Yukon, Oklahoma

Whether you grew up here, just moved in, or you’re passing through on Route 66 — welcome. Yukon is a city worth knowing.

We sit at the crossroads of two of the most storied routes in American history: Route 66 heading west toward California, and the Chisholm Trail that drove the cattle economy of the old Southwest. That history isn’t a footnote here. It’s in the flour mill, in the music venues, in the murals, in the families who have called this place home for generations.

Yukon is also the hometown of Garth Brooks — a fact we wear with pride. But what defines this city isn’t a single name. It’s the neighbor who shows up when things get hard. The volunteer who makes sure every child can play at Freedom Trail. The musician who plays a Tuesday night set at Grady’s like it’s the main stage. The Czech family whose grandmother still makes kolaches the old way.

As your Mayor, I’ve worked to make Yukon a city that matches the pride its residents already feel. That means stronger finances, better infrastructure, transparent government, and a vision for what this community can become — not just what it has been.

This page is a small introduction. Explore it, share it, and — most of all — come see Yukon for yourself.

Our Identity

Where Route 66 Meets the Chisholm Trail

Yukon is the only community in America that sits at the intersection of these two iconic American routes. That’s not just history — it’s an identity. And it’s one we’re building on.
